Number of Players: 2 or more
Setting: Inside or outside
Equipment: Whiteboard and expo markers.
How to play: The class will be divided into five teams. Choose one person to be the executioner (The activity leader). That person will think of a word or short phrase and mark out blanks (short lines) for each letter of each word. Separate words with either a slash, a fairly wide gap, or place words on separate lines. Then the teams will take turns guessing a letter. If that letter is in the word(s) then write the letter in everywhere it would appear, and cross out that letter in the alphabet. If the letter isn't in the word then add a body part to the gallows (head, body, left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg). The team will continue guessing letters until they can either solve the word (or phrase) or guess incorrectly. Once a team guesses incorrectly the next team up will begin guessing. Once all six body parts are on the gallows for any team that team(s) will be eliminated.
Once a team guesses the word or phrase correctly, that team will be declared the winner.
Rules:
Teams are NOT allowed to shout out what they might think the word or phrase is without it being their turn.
A team that shouts out a letter or guesses the phrase without it being the team's turn will be eliminated from the game.
